This wonderful box looks like the Ten Commandments and is created in gold with Hebrew letters done in relief and painted in blue. The box is double hinged and opens up to reveal a parchment scroll. As a nice authentic touch, the edges of the Commandments are slightly distressed around the edges as if they are very old and have eroded from age. The box is marked Chamart Peint Main, Limoges France. Approximate size is 2¾ x 2¾ inches.
